Friends of the Fargo Public Library Permanent Endowment Fund

In 2024, the Friends established a permanent endowment fund with the FM Area Foundation using a 2023 donation from the family of Wencil Dusek. Wencil was a former Fargo library patron who passed away in 2017; he loved the library and was a daily visitor from the early 1980s until his death. His family made the donation to the Friends in Wencil’s memory on what would have been his 100th birthday.

About the Fund and How to Contribute

This fund will provide a consistent source of funding for the Friends to support Fargo Public Library programming (the equivalent of one month’s sales from our Second Editions bookstore per year), honoring Wencil’s longtime love of the library.

  • If you’d like to contribute to the fund to help support the library, you can donate here. Endowment funds make up only a small part of the Friends’ support of the library, and donations are important to help us fund library programming that benefits the entire community.

  • North Dakota taxpayers may receive a tax credit of 40% on donations of at least $5,000.* Learn more.
